Description
SEACO, Inc. celebrated 50 years in business in 1999. Bill Tuller came to Columbia, SC in the mid-1930's to be in the asphalt business with John G. Ehrlich, who later became his father-in-law.Together they started Colprovia Asphalts and began producing and selling cold mix asphalt. With the success of Colprovia Asphalts they began manufacturing asphalt emulsions in 1949 using the name SEACO, Inc. SEACO, Inc. operated as a licensee of K.E. ‘MAC’ McConnaughay, a pioneer in the development of asphalt emulsions, procedures and related products. Colprovia is now a division of SEACO, Inc.Bill Tuller was joined in the business in 1963 by his son, Billy Tuller, becoming the third generation in this endeavor. Another of Bill's sons, Michael, joined the company in 1978 as vice president for approximately 20 years.
