The Radiology Department is staffed by Ryan Schultz, DVM, Diplomate ACVR and Alaina Carr, DVM, Diplomate ACVR and it plays a vital and supportive role in the day to day operations of Seattle Veterinary Specialists. The Radiology Service aids in diagnosing the underlying etiologies for presenting clinical signs utilizing modalities associated with diagnostic imaging. Using state-of- the- art digital radiography and fluoroscopy, we provide diagnostic studies as well as numerous special procedures. We offer diagnostic ultrasound with ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration and ultrasound guided biopsies. Computed Tomographic (CT) is available to provide cross sectional imaging of the body including the skull and thorax. Interventional radiology procedures and therapeutic injections are performed under ultrasound or CT guidance. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of neurologic disorders is provided through the neurology service. In addition, we offer MRI studies of the abdomen and musculoskeletal structures.

Physical rehabilitation is a proven means of decreasing morbidity, speeding and improving recovery, and enhancing quality of life in veterinary patients. Seattle Veterinary Specialists is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our patients and considers rehabilitation to be an integral part of comprehensive veterinary medicine. Our physical rehabilitation service provides a full range of therapies for hospitalized, post-operative, and day patients. The rehabilitation service is staffed by a certified rehabilitation technician and overseen by the surgery and neurosurgery departments. The rehabilitation team works very closely with the other services to provide consultation, collaboration and care for animals needing rehabilitation therapy.

The Radiology Department at Seattle Veterinary Specialists is pleased to offer outpatient ultrasound services. We understand that the ability to have a diagnostic ultrasound performed for stable patients can add service and value to your practice. Our team approach to the management of cases allows specialists in the areas of surgery, internal medicine, critical care, cardiology, and neurology to be consulted regarding specific ultrasound findings. Depending on your preference, the ultrasound findings will be sent directly to you by fax or discussed over the phone. If requested, further recommendations based on the findings can be made by our specialists.
