The City of Sebring is located in Highlands County, Florida on the shores of Lake Jackson with a population estimated to be around 11,000. Sebring was founded in 1912 by George Sebring, chartered in 1913 and named after George Sebring. Sebring became the county seat for Highlands County in 1921. The city design resembles a wagon wheel with six streets converging on a circular park in the center of the town. The city has been given the nickname of “City on the Circle” because of the unique layout of the streets. Sebring is also well known for the Sebring Races which are held annually at the Sebring Airport. Just outside Sebring is Highlands Hammock State Park. The Park captures the old Florida and is a great place to visit. Sebring Race Track The Sebring Race track is one of the oldest in the country. Racing began at the track in 1950 and continues today. The track is 3.7 miles in length and the host for numerous race activities including the 12 Hours of Sebring.
