Many of Sedano’s Supermarkets’ workers have been with the company for more than 20 years, which led the company to launch this initiative. “For more than 45 years, we’ve supported our local communities through a number of charitable initiatives and today we’re pleased to be able to extend a helping hand to our own employees,” said Herrán. “As a family owned and operated business, we know how important it is to be supportive during challenging economic times, we hope these gift cards help defray some of the current economic hardships we’re all experiencing,” he said.

Sedano’s Supermarkets was founded in Hialeah, Florida in 1962. Our founder, Armando Guerra, was a thriving businessman in Cuba, and it was there where he gained the necessary experience to establish himself in the U.S. In 1971, Guerra brought Manuel Herrán on board to help out with the daily operations of his small business. From its humble beginnings, Sedano’s is now the No. 1 Hispanic retailer in the nation.
