SEMTEC was founded in 1979 as a consulting analytical laboratory utilizing the scanning electron microscope (SEM) with an attached energy dispersive x-ray spectrometer (EDS). Many of our original clients were in the semiconductor industry, but the power and versatility of the SEM/EDS was also found to be valuable in fields as diverse as metallurgical failure analysis, product liability, legal evidence and mining geology. True to our beginings, we will continue to provide state-of-the art electron microscopy. But as part of our ever-widening scope of services, we now also offer optical macrography and microscopy, cross sectioning, air sampling and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FeSEM). Our goal is to become the only laboratory you will ever need, and we will, if we lack the capability, arrange for or recommend analysis by other qualified laboratories.
