Resources for Seniors, Inc. (RFS) was founded in 1973. Our mission is to provide home- and community-based services so that disabled and senior adults can maximize their independence for as long as possible while remaining in their homes. We are committed to excellence in service and care for individuals, families, and their communities.

Resources for Seniors serves senior and disabled adults in Wake County, NC, by providing home- and community-based services and information so that they can maximize their choices for independence, comfort, safety, security and well-being. We provide information and support for decision-making, and also direct services such as home care, adult day care, senior centers, home repair, and more. We are committed to excellence in service and care for individuals and their families.

Businesses do not, and cannot, pay to be included in the directory. Instead, we attempt to provide the most comprehensive, complete information available. On the other hand, we rely on community partners to help us underwrite the cost of the publication. This nonprofit agency works with RFS to provide the Telecare and Friendly Visitor programs, and also provides a myriad of other volunteer-driven services, from Alzheimer respite care to transportation to yardwork. They also administer Family Caregiver Support Program funds to provide volunteer-based respite services to caregivers. CVC works with churches and community organizations to recruit and train volunteers, but individual volunteers are also welcome! Volunteers are matched with seniors who need what they have to offer.

Cost-Shared In-Home Care : This is a general term for several programs providing limited in-home services on a sliding-scale basis for Wake County residents who need help with personal care. Lengthy wait list.
