webdesign.co.uk is currently on a drive to be experts in magento commerce shopping sites. We've two on the go at the moment and are finding that the development of them is quite a challenge. It's a great system but it's complex with an unusual structure that takes alot of getting used to. Perhaps the most time consuming task we have is implementing the designs from the designers. Magento runs fine out of the box (provided you've a server with all the bells that it needs), but implementing a full on reskin is a time muncher. It's not for the faint hearted, that's for sure - if you're thinking of doing it yourself you really need at least one experienced php developer on hand - no doubt about it. And that/those developer/s really should be pretty savvy with Zend Framework too. Lucky for us!! We'll let you see the results when they're ready . . . To be honest it's made us a little bit more grumpy and a bit more expensive, but we think the end'll be well worth it!
