A Bacteria Product: There are many beneficial uses for bacteria. The bacterial strains formulated into Septic-1 are safe and specifically chosen for use in a septic tank. Your Maintenance Program: For Septic Tanks or Cesspools: Use Septic-1 in septic tanks or cesspools of 500 to 1500 gallon capacity. Pour and flush ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) of Septic-1 down toilet once a week. Positive results should be seen within 2-4 weeks. To maintain system use same application weekly. In severe cases, 4-8 weeks may be necessary to obtain results. This may also be true in areas with high clay soil content. High clay content makes for poor fluid absorption and porosity. When To Apply: Obviously Septic-1 will work easiest with the least amount of waste to liquiefy and digest. For that reason, it is best to apply soon after the last pumping out of your system. This is not always possible, therefore any time will work. For Leach Fields: Unproperly maintained systems can clog up your leach/septic field as well. Undigested solid waste can be deposited into the leach field. Septic-1 can be induced into the leach field through the distribution box between the septic tanks and the leach field. If your system doesn't have a distribution box you can dig down to the pipe leading from the tanks to the leach field. Install a distribution box or a cleanout type fitting so to allow you to induce Septic-1 directly into the leach field system. Starting/Restarting Up A New/Old System: The best time to use Septic-1 is immediately after installing or having your septic tank pumped.
