Description

The Seton Center School-Age Program provides both before- and after-school services and activities for children who range from school-age through twelve years, in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages friendship and self-esteem. Our staff of resourceful, caring adults seeks to provide youngsters of both mixed-age and same-age groups with a balance of recreational and educational activities and the "quiet time" necessary to do their homework and simply relax.

Both of our centers are clean, cheery, comfortable, and easily accessible. In addition to education and socialization opportunities, a healthy, balanced lunch is available daily. We also provide opportunities for information services and referral advice, and offer non-therapeutic counseling to those with specific health issues. But best of all, we find that our clients bring great energy and a real zest for life to both our Senior Centers.

We strive to be involved with the communities where our sites are located, and to respond to the changing needs of the people there. Our purpose is to provide services to people of all generations in an environment where their potential is cherished and fostered to the fullest extent. The multigenerational aspect of the Center allows for an easy transition to intergenerational programs that can break down walls of separation and encourage trust, friendship, and understanding.

The School of Arts, which provides music lessons in group classes and private sessions for children and adults, and opportunities for people of all ages to participate in theatre productions In Allegheny County, we also operate a facility in Overbrook , home to a Senior Center for local residents. Seton Center also plays an important role in providing services to senior citizens and their families in Westmoreland County.
