Description

Severna is a leading manufacturer of precision plastic components. Since the early 1950s, Severna has custom-machined a wide range of parts to our customer's most exacting engineering specifications for applications in the electrical, mechanical, chemical, medical, telecommunications and automotive markets. An AS9100C and ISO 9001:2008 certified company, Severna operates from a 32,000 square-foot facility located in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Severna is a full-service machine shop experienced in working with a wide variety of plastic materials. When asked to create an Ultem® insulator for the aerospace industry, Severna had the materials, the tools, and the in-house design capabilities to provide the custom plastic fabricating services that the client needed. Using our CNC Swiss machining know-how, we made the piece in just a single step. Using natural-clear Ultem®1000, which has excellent thermal properties, the finished part measured .500" long, with a diameter ranging from .050" down to .043".

CNC Milling of Phenolic Spacer Board for the Electronics Industry In need of a custom phenolic spacer board, an electronics OEM turned to Severna to take advantage of our experience in manufacturing precision plastic components. Drawing from our large materials inventory, we milled the part from natural-clear/white G-10 Phenolic. The piece was machined on Severna's HAAS VF Vertical Machining Center in two steps: hole drilling and mill profiling. The finished dimensions of the component measured 1.25" x .50" x .031".

Severna has been supplying industry with a wide array of custom-machined parts for over 60 years. To inquire about our milling services, please contact us or see the table below.
