Sharp Shopper was established in Ephrata PA, in 1988, and is owned by Dennis & Bonnie Sharp. That is where the "Sharp" in "Sharp Shopper" originated. Sharp Shopper has four retail outlets in PA and two in VA. The Distribution Warehouse & Corporate Office are located in Ephrata, PA. What is Sharp Shopper Sharp Shopper features close-outs from the grocery industry. Close-outs become available because of overproduction, packaging changes, seasonal items, warehouse damage, or short date codes. Close-out items may be a national or private label brand and are discounted well below regular retail prices. Inventories constantly change because of the changing availability of products. Customers say this adds a "treasure hunt" dimension to shopping at Sharp Shopper. In addition to close-outs, Sharp Shopper offers fresh bread, dairy products, produce, bulk foods, soft drinks, etc. for your shopping convenience. Sharp Shopper operates under all the same state and federal Department of Agriculture regulations as any typical grocery store. The community can expect great products, low prices, and friendly service at every location. Ephrata, PA Store Dennis Sharp & his wife Bonnie opened their first store in Ephrata PA, in December of 1988. The Ephrata Store's location was in the Westgate Plaza at 1755 West Main Street for 12 years. On November 1, 2000 the store was moved. The store is now located across route 322 in the Sharp Plaza shopping center at 1041 Sharp Avenue (across from the previous location). Middletown, PA Store The second store, opened in February of 1993, was located at 1583 Jamesway Plaza for 8 years. On February 7, 2001 the store was moved. The store is now located at 1595 Jamesway Plaza (in same shopping center as previous location, but in a different building). Knox, PA Store The third store, opened in July of 1994, was located at 308 Ohio Street for 13 years. On June 13, 2007, the store was moved. The store is now located at 100 Knox Road. Harrisonburg, VA Store The fourth store, opened in December of 1996, is located at 2475-A South Main Street. Leola, PA Store The fifth store, opened in March of 1998, was located at 35 West Main Street for 8 years. On March 1, 2006, the store moved down the road to it's current location at 340 West Main Street. Waynesboro, VA Store The sixth store, opened on August 21, 2007, is located at 2800 A West Main Street.
