Tropicana Lanes have been in business for more than 50 years bringing national attention to St. Louis by hosting the Professional Bowlers Tour; a nationally televised bowling tournament. They have also hosted many other national tournaments attracting bowlers from all over the country. Tropicana Lanes’ large sign has been a landmark on Clayton Road for more than fifty years. During those fifty years, three generations of Richmond Heights residents have enjoyed the facilities from bowling to playing pool, or attending a wedding reception, or enjoying dinner and brew in the lounge.

Beginning in 1898, the original congregation of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran met in a small chapel on the corner of St. Clair and Duke in St. Paul. In 1920, the Campbellite Church at Leech and McBoal was purchased by St. Mark’s and renovated to suit the congregation at the time. They then convened at this site for over 30 years until the current church, located at the corner of Goodhue and Ann, was purchased in the early 1950s.
