We display a full line of Santons, in fact over 100 figurines to select from! Our unique collection features the Dressed Santons (in 5", 8" and 10.5") which offer a wonderful display of color and detail in each hand-crafted piece. In addition to our dressed santons, we also offer an extensive selection of hand painted santons with over 160 different figurines. 2-centimeter,7-centimeter and 14-centimeter sizes are in stock for immediate delivery. We are also happy to special order other handpainted santons in 4-cm, 6-cm, 8-cm, and 10-cm sizes.
After the First World War, the savonneries, or soap factories, benefitted from the progress of mechanisation. Without sacrificing the quality or compromising age-old techniques, production rose again to 12, 000 tons in 1938. When the Second World War broke out, Marseille still represented half of the soap production in France but the following years were to see its decline. The soap was pushed out by synthetic detergents and the factories began closing one after the other.

Selon l'article III de l'édit: «On ne pourra se servir dans la fabrique de savon, avec la barrille, soude ou cendre, d'aucune graisse, beurre ni autres matières; mais seulement des huiles d'olives pures, et sans mélange de graisse, sous peine de confiscation des marchandises».
