Description

The inspiration for Smart Cookie Company began in the suburban San Francisco Bay Area more than 20 years ago with one bite of a mass-produced vanilla ice cream & chocolate-covered oatmeal cookie sandwich. This pivotal moment in Christian McDaniel ’s life years later, led him to create, test and perfect a handful of cookie recipes, that when combined with premium ice creams would surpass his childhood ’s ideal dessert. With 25 perfect cookie recipes in hand, Christian traded in his financial calculator for a commercial-grade mixer, and Smart Cookie Company was born. In June 2005, Christian opened the first Smart Cookie Company store in Provo, Utah with much fanfare from customers ranging from local college & high school students, to out-of-state dessert connoisseurs. His baking philosophy is to make an exceptionally delicious cookie —chewy, not too hard, not too soft, with the right taste, texture and appeal, using only the finest gourmet ingredients. Every cookie, baked daily from scratch in the Smart Cookie Company kitchen, always leaves his customers wanting more. People of all ages flock to the store to delight in one of the many varieties of cookies, or to create their own personalized ice cream cookie sandwich masterpiece, Smart Cookie Company ’s signature dessert. Due to popular demand, Christian is currently working on plans to expand beyond the Original Provo, and newest locations in American Fork and Midvale.
