Print Fact Sheet (.pdf) Since 1994, Eric Svaren has planned and facilitated thousands of hours of retreats and large- and small-group meetings. He has conducted dozens of trainings, and provided management consulting to numerous organizations and individual clients. (Check out testimonials from past clients.) In addition, he spent two years managing a joint labor-management program to increase employee participation in improving service delivery at the City of Seattle. In that role, he worked closely with all levels of management, from the Mayor and City Councilmembers down to crew chiefs, as well as employees, and union representatives from the 30 unions.Eric has served for three years as an instructor of the City of Seattle's 90-hour NOVA facilitator training program. His article "Speak Consistently and Abandon the Big Stick" was recently published in the Journal for Quality and Participation.Previously, Eric worked as personal staff to Seattle City Councilmember Tom Weeks and as a policy analyst. Prior to joining the City of Seattle, he worked for three years as a staff member at Eastside Human Services Council, a non-profit, United Way human services coordination and planning agency in Seattle's eastern suburbs.
