The SMITH HAYES Financial Services' Public Finance team is committed to meeting the capital needs of Nebraska's municipalities, public authorities, and nonprofit organizations by offering excellent service, ongoing advice, and support. We provide our clients with detailed explanations of financing options -- from unrated bonds to rated and/or enhanced debt, or other solutions -- and help them choose the structure that best meets their needs. Our resume of successful financings is as diverse as the wide range of Nebraska organizations with which we work.

The actual impact of a disruption of business is dependent upon the event and the severity of that event. We have identified our critical systems. The systems we deem critical are telecommunications, computer systems, our clearing firm, books and records, and location. SMITH HAYES has developed a Business Continuity Plan (“BCP”) on how we will respond to events that significantly disrupt our business. Since the timing and impact of disasters and disruptions is unpredictable, we will have to be flexible in responding to actual events as they occur.

K. Randy Hood, Vice President Director of Compliance, joined SMITH HAYES in 2012. He was born in St. Paul and raised in Omaha and Wood River. Randy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1977 and earned his JD in 1979 from Creighton University. He was engaged in general practice of law before becoming experienced regarding broker/dealer, RIA regulatory law and compliance regulations. Initially, Randy entered the financial industry as an advisor working with clients, and then assisted other advisors with advanced planning for their clients.
