Smith Mechanical is a family owned business that was started by Steve & Colleen Smith in 1990. Steve worked for NW Refrigeration for many years before deciding to start his own business, Smith Mechanical. Steve now has over 35 years of experience in the HVAC/R trade. In 2010 Jared & Shelly Murphy took over the business operations but Steve & Colleen still work part-time in the family business. Jared has over 18 years of experience in the HVAC/R trade. Jared started working for Steve part-time while in high school then after graduating High School, Jared attended Bellingham Technical College for the HVAC/R Service Technician course. After graduating from this 2 year course Jared went to work for a larger company for 12 years and then returned back to Smith Mechanical in 2006 to help manage the business and eventual take over business operations in 2010. Smith Mechanical is a local company that does very little advertising so the majority of our customers were referred to us by a family member, friend & neighbor or are repeat customers.
