For over 35 years SMI has specialized in the fabrication of precision welded components for the aircraft industry. We provide a wide variety of structural and non-structural components. We have the capacity to service the demands of large production companies with scheduled delivery programs, as well as our customers requiring a few units per month. All components are produced using detailed weld processes and procedures. This combined with our in -process and final inspection procedures ensures the consistency our customers demand. All welds are 100% visually inspected by our AWS Certified Weld Inspectors. We also offer certified NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) inspection such as X-Ray, Magnetic-Particle, and Die-Penetrant inspection if required. Our welders take great pride in the work they do, sharing many years of experience and techniques to bring the highest level of quality and consistency to our customers. SMI's welders are qualified to Mil-Std-1595, all procedures qualify to Mil-Std-2219 and AWS D17.1
