Dr. Mooney is a fellow of both SPIE and the Air Force Research Laboratory. He has over twenty years of experience in advanced sensor design, digital imaging, algorithm development, image processing and staring infrared camera characterization. He has more than ten years of experience in visible and infrared hyperspectral imaging and spectral-temporal image processing. He has in-depth experience in the application of image decomposition techniques to both spectral and temporal image sequences. Dr.
Dr. Nelson oversees business development efforts and projects at SSSC. As principal investigator he managed the early development of miniature spectral imaging and crossed dispersion prism technology. His involvement extends from presenting the company's research efforts at scientific conferences to developing and marketing SSSC's innovative sensors and systems. Trained as an engineer, Dr. Nelson has authored dozens of articles and presentations, and is author or co-author on five patents. He has served as a senior staff member at SSSC for over 13 years.
We specialize in designing electronics to fit challenging SWaP requirements. These often require rigid flex PCBs, GigaBit SerDes based FPGA and DSP data transfers, and FPGA based processing with a concentration on performance while minimizing power consumption.
Our latest designs feature the TI TMS320C6678 DSP and an Altera Cyclone V GX connected via Serial Rapid IO. This very specialized design for our next generation spectral video processors could be customized for your very specialized problem. In addition, we have designed, built, and delivered various boards featuring Altera Cyclone III, Cyclone IV GX, and Cyclone V GX FPGAs. All of those boards include Nios-II CPUs and custom Verilog Qsys components running the Qsys based SOC.
