Description
The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford, was founded in 1971 by a visionary group of pioneer leaders whose goal was to establish a Jewish day school that would serve Jewish students and families in the Greater Hartford area.
Many of our families continue into this exciting division of our school after participating in our Elementary School; however, a number of students and families begin their relationship with our special Schechter community through this wonderful division of our school as well. At this important transitional stage, students are encouraged to become increasingly independent and are able to take additional courses to aid in their development.
The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford is a non-profit educational institution that depends on income from tuition, endowment and charitable contributions to support its mission to provide an outstanding dual-curricular educational experience in a welcoming environment.
Welcoming students of diverse social, cultural, religious and economic backgrounds, we are dedicated to providing individual attention to each student and educating the whole child, intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically. Our intimate environment allows our outstanding faculty to provide individualized attention and guidance. The faculty works in close partnership with parents by promoting regular communication, classroom involvement and family learning experiences. Schechter parents are involved in every aspect of school life, creating a strong sense of community.

Kindergarten through fifth grade represent a wealth of opportunities for fundamental intellectual and social-emotional skill development.
