Description

In spring, when the bees get busy, we get busy too, harvesting all the vibrant flowers that go into our products. The fresh flowers go into jars and get submerged in pure seed and nut oils, vegetable glycerin, pure grain alcohol, organic vinegar or witch hazel. Over the next few weeks, the oils and waters deepen in color as the flowers slowly fade. The extraction process at work; oils and waters, like alcohol and vinegar, draw compounds out of the plant material. The skin nourishing elements of the plant end up suspended in the extraction medium all ready to add to skin creams, body lotions and cleansers. We continue the harvest through summer and into fall as flowers bloom and berries ripen. Our Elderberry Cordial is one of our favorite fall products.
