The Soma Group, Inc. (Soma) was founded in 1992 as a custom software consulting services organization primarily serving customers in Semiconductor Capital Equipment & Factory Automation markets as well as Medical Instrumentation companies. Examples of just a few customers include such names as Applied Materials, KLA-Tencor, Brooks Automation, CIBA-Corning, Nova Biomedical, Intel, AMD, Siemens as well as a large number of Tier 3 ( <20M ) companies.During the first few years Soma developed key expert domain experience and channel partners in these markets, particularly Semiconductor. Through this strategy Soma developed a key reputation for delivery high-quality on-time solutions while continuing to develop its experience, processes and skill sets in these markets. Soma was voted top technology companies by INC 500, Deloitte FAST-500/50 in 1999 reaching top revenues of $2.5 Million.Since around 1999, Soma has been in the process of transitioning it market focus into other areas including Medical Instrumentation, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences markets. This includes both Systems Software as well as Automation and Integration services for these markets in a similar fashion that made the company so successful in the Semiconductor domain. The key barrier to entry has been developing key strategic customers and partners in these domains.
