Description

Secret of the Magi is a novel that Randy Blackwell is currently writting. -Soterion RPG Book by Randy Blackwell and Kyle Clark. Coming soon ... is a short story by Kyle Clark. Here is a brief overview of the 30 page history of Soterion: All civilization (except for the Adam which is the human race) can be traced back to one Kingdom, Emerailda. The Elder was the ruler of Emerailda who was appointed to the position by the Creator. One of the Malakadam (elven races) called the Miyka (glowing elves who are blue bloods) led a rebellion against the Elder. The Elder under the Creator's direction cursed this Miyka and all those who were with him. The supernatural curse took hold and they became known as the Kalat. The Kalat tainted the tree of life (which was the home of all those in Emerailda). All the remaining good Miyka and the other Malakadam went after the Kalat. They chased the Kalat far to the south west of Emerailda and settled at Fort Chliaros which eventually became Chliaros the capital of Loefel Meren and home to all the Malakadam. Eventually the taint killed the tree. There was an evil that crept into the forest and all races had to evacuate. They spread out and formed Caelsis the faerie Kingdom and now home of the Magi, Marasimlah the mountain home to the Daqad rock speakers, and eventually Philos a multi-raced Kingdom. Suchikos is the home of the Adam (Aw-dawm). There is much mystery and legend surrounding where they come from but few know. The secret is in a novel I am writing called "The Secret of the Magi" and some of it is revealed in the RPG Book. The defining moment of history in Soterion is not a happy one. The Drakoni (humanoid dragon creatures) appeared and began killing off populations of entire villages. So the armies of Soterion united against them at the Field of Epher (Greek for Ash). At the battle of Epher the Drakoni were all but defeated when Mount Drakonge erupted and out of it cam a huge black mass that darkened the skies. Haylale the Great Red Dragon was first seen that day on the fields of Epher. The Dragon landed and blew out pillars of fire that swept across the field and destroyed all the armies of Soterion (3/4 of the population of Soterion). The field was black with ash and the Kings and Queens descended on the Dragon from the hill they had been on. Somehow, that day, the Monarchs of Soterion defeated the Dragon, but none know the answer (thats for the video game). Since that day time has been measured in units of B.E. (Before Epher) and P.E. (Post Epher). After the Battle there were no armies. In an attempt to reform the armies of the Kingdoms of Soterion, King Alagaar (Daqad King of Marasimlah) created the Gauntlet. The first Gauntlet was held in Philos. The Gauntlet was to be a test of fighting skill, teamwork, and leadership for all those who wished to join the Warrior's Guild. Every Kingdom now has a Gauntlet. It was found that the Rogue Guild had infiltrated all the other guilds with spys and thieves. This bagan waring between the guilds. It was a nasty mess. Finally the Rogues Guild in every Kingdom was crushed.
