Description

One fall day in 2002 I passed through the village of Southfield with my daughter Emily on our way to look at a piece of country property she was thinking of buying. At the time I was living in Manhattan, a transplanted Californian, filmmaker and struggling writer, who had moved east to jump into the final crazy days of the dotcom boom.
