In 1981 George E. and Betty L. Thornhill formed Southwest Building Systems as a sole proprietorship after selling the family Airstream travel trailer and taking the risk of going into business and stepping out in the entrepreneurial mindset. George, who we miss every day since his passing in 1999, was completely involved in the entire Sales and Management effort. Betty (currently the CEO) was responsible for auditing the Accounting / Finance. Don Youngs (retired, but still the technical professional) provided the Technical and Installation Support.
