SOWEGA Engineering is a full service civil engineering firm specializing in supporting the needs of municipal governments and authorities. The first step in providing these services is getting to know our clients; their personalities, their infrastructure, and their needs. This allows us to help the client identify problems, research solutions, secure funding and then design and construct the most cost effective resolution to the problem.

This position is responsible for ever facet of project management from project scoping and preliminary design to detailed design then bidding assistance and construction observation. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with two to five years of experience in progressively more complex projects. Typical projects for which the position will be responsible include designs of wastewater treatment plants, groundwater wells, water distribution systems, sewer collection systems, sewer pump stations. storm water management systems, storm water pump stations, and roads and streets. The position will also require the employee to periodically visit construction sites to observe the progress of construction and resolve construction problems. Experience and knowledge in the use of AutoCad Land Development Desktop is required. Successful completion of the Fundamentals in Engineering Exam required.

This position fills a key support role to the design team and the company as a whole. The employee will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, telephone reception, maintenance of office and project files, typing of specifications, correspondence, proposals, mail routing, mailing of plans and specifications, and copying of plans and specifications. The candidate must have knowledge and experience in QuickBooks Pro (or other business accounting software), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
