Sparta is a choice destination nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of western Wisconsin. Known as the “Bicycling Capital of America” with multiple trails and paved rides to choose from. Over 200 miles of routes that include tunnels, wildlife and back to nature experiences.Our downtown offers a rich history, with a diverse blend of merchants that offer a bit of everything. Our Deke Slayton Memorial Bicycle and Space Museum has the only moon rock in the state. Memorial Park has a new aquatic center with the huge water slide and lazy river. There are also ball diamonds, tennis courts, ice rink, hockey arena, playgrounds, sheltered picnic areas, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking around the park. Beaver Creek, Perch Lake and the La Crosse River offer excellent fishing and paddling opportunities for those that like to play in the water. On our road tours there are 88 unique destinations in the area.
