Description

Ahmad earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Baghdad University in Iraq and has worked as an architect for over 15 years. He worked in the Middle East, primarily in Iraq and Jordan, for 13 years prior to joining Speedway in 2006. Ahmad is proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup and Photoshop and uses such programs to prepare building designs, presentation materials, 3-D concept drawings and plans for renovation projects in support of the leasing agents and the construction and maintenance crews.

Located in the Historic Haymarket, the H.P. Lau Building was acquired by Speedway Properties in 1990 when the building was vacant. Originally built in 1904 by a grocery wholesaler, the building sat vacant for over 20 years prior to being redeveloped into a multi-tenant office/retail building. Current tenants include Buzzard Billy's Restaurant, El Potrero Mexican Restaurant, the Starlite Lounge, Chief Industries, and MacPractice.

Ken earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and has worked in the facilities/property management field for over 34 years. His previous experience as the Director of the State Building Division has given him an expansive knowledge in building management and development. Ken works with architects, engineers, contractors and tenants to successfully complete improvement and renovation projects. Ken is active in several business associations and is a member of the Nebraska Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Review Board.

Steve has been with Speedway Properties since January of 2000 and has over 35 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and property management. Steve’s knowledge and experience enables him to manage building and grounds maintenance, structural problems, roof leaks, heating or air conditioning issues, and plumbing problems. Steve is a member of the International Facilities Management Association and participates in the local chapter.
