Springhill Medical Center is a Joint Commission Accredited 60 bed acute/surgical/geriatric psychiatric facility located in rural northwest Louisiana on the Arkansas border. The hospital was founded in 1959 by a group of physicians. The current facility was built in 1975 with renovations in 1983, 1989 and again in 1994 and 1997. November 17, 2000 marked the return of ownership to the local level when the hospital was purchased by Springhill Medical Services, Incorporated The current Board of Directors (board) is made up of local business people from various backgrounds. The facility is the sole provider for Springhill and the surrounding communities. The hospital offers a 24 hour emergency room, Full Lab & Radiology, Respiratory, Physical Therapy, a 14 bed Gero-bed ICU with the latest in Telemetry. A wide variety of surgical services including Laparoscopic and Arthroscopic surgery are offered at Springhill Medical
