Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts is dedicated to providing economic education and financial literacy programs to the youth of western Massachusetts and Vermont. - Hartford Stage Hartford Stage is an award-winning non-profit professional theatre. Producing six major theatrical productions and one to two summer productions annually. - Symphony Hall The 2,611-seat Symphony Hall is home to Broadway-style theatre, top-quality children’s programming, internationally-recognized speakers and numerous concerts and performances. - Springfield Public Forum One of the few surviving lecture series in the nation that is still offered at no charge to the public, the Springfield Public Forum brings an incredible array of nationally-known experts and commentators to our community. Each fall, they host a variety of experts in a range of fields. Among them are: journalists, political commentators, authors, historians, scientists, environmentalists, health experts and economists. Their presence in our community provides unique opportunities for discussion, debate and education on a variety of issues crucial to our times. This Fall '08 marks the 73rd anniversary of this venerable organization. - March of Dimes Prematurity is the leading cause of infant mortality in Massachusetts and increases a child’s risk of developing health problems including cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning disabilities, asthma, blindness and hearing loss. The March of Dimes is dedicated to funding research which investigates the causes of prematurity, infant mortality, and birth defects. Programs focus on education about the signs of preterm labor and research into the causes. - Springfield School Volunteers The Mission of Springfield School Volunteers is to promote and facilitate learning-focused community involvement in support of the Springfield Public Schools' goal of ensuring that every child attain a high level of academic achievement in a safe and supportive environment. - Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Hampden County A leader in one-to-one mentoring, the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Hampden County has been helping youg children improve their lives in a variety of meaningful ways. - American Diabetes Association The American Diabetes Association’s mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. They lead the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected by the condition. - CT Division of the Liver Foundation The Connecticut Division of the American Liver Foundation is dedicated to addressing the needs of our community through education and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis.
