About SDI In 1990, the Caya Family bought Standard Drywall, Inc. (SDI), a residential drywall subcontractor that had built a fine reputation among the residential builders in San Diego, California since 1955. Blaine and Bob Caya established the corporate headquarters in San Diego, California. Starting with a small crew, very little equipment and surpassing financial obstacles, the brothers quickly gained a reputation in the commercial arena for lath and plaster, fireproofing and acoustical ceiling work.
