We specialize in collecting, sorting & processing of paper from schools, offices, printers, retailers and manufacturers. Purchase of paper from outside sources, and pick-up & delivery with appointment schedules.

SP&M handles all grades of recovered paper, including old corrugated containers, office papers, old newspapers and printers' mix. As a valued supplier to our own and outside paper mills, our job is to supply paper. That means we're in the business for the long-term and go out of our way to provide dependable paper recovery services to our customers.

Morris Gudelman started the company in 1939. He handled scrap paper, iron and other metal, and rags in the company's original location on Woodruff Avenue near Cherry Street. The company was then called State Iron and Metal Co. Morris's nephew, Norman Gudelman, immigrated to the United States from Israel and joined his uncle in the company in 1958. Three years later, he and the late Ralph Worshtil bought the company and moved it to the present location on Central Avenue.

With years experience in the recycling industry, State Paper & Metal has built up relationships with different mills to market our products. We can offer our expertise to your business, to market your materials and get you the best prices available. More important we can move your materials when other companies cannot.

The fastest growing segment of material that we recycle is consumer electronics. Anything with a cord, we can recycle. We specialize in computers and computer parts, including keyboards, monitors and hard drives.
