Founded in 1912, Sterling Realty Organization (SRO) is a locally owned company specializing in the development and management of real estate. Members of the 3rd and 4th generation remain active in the business and ownership now reaches into the 5th generation. We own, acquire and develop high quality properties for long-term management and ownership.

Sterling Realty Organization (SRO), formerly Sterling Recreation Organization, is a privately owned company founded in 1912 by John Danz, a pioneer motion picture exhibitor. Fred Danz took over after his father’s death in 1961. SRO grew into one of the largest amusement, recreation and entertainment operations on the Pacific Coast. By 1986, SRO had a diversified corporate portfolio including over 130 motion picture screens, 7 bowling centers, 9 radio stations, as well as swap meets, video stores and property management activities.

Tom is the Chief Financial Officer and incoming President of Sterling Realty Organization where he has held a variety of positions for over 30 years including serving on the Board of Directors for more than 20 years. Tom graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1983 and passed the CPA exam in 1987. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Bellevue Downtown Association and KidsQuest Children’s Museum. Tom lives in Sammamish with his wife Nancy.

SRO was founded in 1912 by John Danz, a pioneer motion picture exhibitor. By 1986, SRO owned over 130 motion picture screens, 7 bowling centers, 9 radio stations, and employed more than 1,800 people across the west. In 1986, SRO sold its theatre operations, while retaining most of the real estate.
