The Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) awards have been presented to the best Wisconsin musicians in a variety of categories for over 30 years. The WAMI is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to educate and recognize the achievements and accomplishments of individuals in the Wisconsin music industry.

On Monday April 30th, 2001 the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) held their annual awards banquet in Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel announced on May 1st, that I was voted "Favorite Polka Artist" by the WAMI members and fans. My thanks to all of you for your generous support. An update on "Chump Change". The multi award winning motion picture boasting a host of stars, and featuring, yours truly and my music, is on it's way to domestic distribution. Fresh off it's award winning appearance at the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, "Chump Change" was acquired by Miramax Films.

FRIENDS: I would have to say that, with out a doubt, I have enjoyed my friendships more in the past year than ever. I've made many new friends through my music and shored up some of my closer relationships and have appreciated the experience of having them. I've watched many of them grow into their own and blossom. I am continually amazed at how the human spirit takes a seemingly long time to allow us to learn and make mistakes until we finally get it right. Then it dumps a load of sunshine on us as if we knew all along that things would work out.
