Stewart Services was initially founded in 2001 to serve the cement industry and assist plants in understanding the unique characteristics of refractory materials and the installed performance of refractory linings at the best value available. Stewart Services has a deep and diverse understanding of the multi-disciplined refractory crafts and design, process environment, field management and a history of solving problems in industrial applications. Since refractory failures are generally the largest contributor to unplanned outages, increasing refractory reliability in these industries is our specialty. Stewart Services has since grown to be one of the largest refractory contractors for the cement industry in the US. In 2006, Stewart Services added a Mechanical Division specializing in all aspects of maintenance for our customers. They not only support refractory projects, but also can do any of the day to day maintenance in any area of the plants from quarry crushers, to mills, to product loadout. Our customers have been extremely pleased not only with our Mechanical Division's capabilities, but also with not having to worry about coordination between separate contractors.

Due to constant requests from our customers for more efficient and better managed scaffold manpower, we have started a scaffold division. Our scaffold division is capable of stand-alone projects as well as supporting our refractory and mechanical work. Refractory installation is our specialty. With refractory equipment located strategically across the country, Stewart Services can be at almost any plant site in the nation less than 14 hours, usually before it's even cool enough to enter. Our diverse manpower base and experienced foremen allow us to manage multiple projects at one time with safe and top quality execution. Stewart Services does not just install refractory on these projects. We work with our customers to assure their decisions meet their goals with respect to material selection, installation method, outage execution (planning, scheduling, coordination), engineering design, and refractory performance. We don't just put in what we're told to. We collect all the information we can to put the best recommendations and solutions together for our customers.

Stewart Services can handle almost any aspect of an outage. With our Mechanical and Scaffold divisions, there are few undertakings on any given project that we cannot handle. For most outage projects, the refractory work is critical path. Therefore, in order to provide the most organized and cost effective outage for our customer, we work to manage the entire outage. This includes coordinating equipment deliveries, plant personnel projects, and projects of other contractors. It’s in both Stewart Services and our customers’ best interest that bottlenecks and schedule issues, even those outside our control, are managed properly to achieve the overall safety, quality, and outage duration goals.

It is Stewart Services’ intention to expand all of our customers’ knowledge of refractory and refractory construction to a point that it becomes a "core competence" area. We understand that the more that is learned about our field, the more that is understood about the value of the services we provide. We also can provide mini-seminars for our customers based on information that they are most interested.
