Description

Store Opening Solutions (SOS) was founded in July 1995 as a subsidiary of Famous Fixtures, a store fixture manufacturer and a wholly owned subsidiary of Famous Footwear. SOS’ management analyzed the supply chain process for store fixture distribution and installation and recognized that significant savings could be achieved by consolidating the delivery of store fixtures and graphics to retailers, as well as providing the installation/merchandising service component as part of an overall integrated project solution. Over time, the SOS concept was refined, a centrally located distribution center established, and experienced distribution center management and project management staff brought together, and in the fall of 1995 Store Opening Solutions began to provide these services to Retailers.
