I would highly recommend this program to my friends and colleagues.” The mission of the specialization in the Art of the Oral Tradition is to provide teachers, librarians, educators and other professionals with an advanced level of expertise in the art and application of the oral tradition. “After today’s discussion I realize the power of the spoken word is awesome. The ability to convey different emotions, messages from a single sound, using tone, inflection, volume, gesture, and facial expression is humbling. A single word on the page, even with punctuation cannot compare. “ This sixth year program is designed to provide unique opportunities for students to focus on historic, sociological, anthropological, multicultural, and evolutionary aspects of the oral tradition. “I never could have imagined getting my 6th year in oral tradition would be so much fun. Every course was phenomenal and was taught by world class storytelling artists. Even though I am graduating this June I plan to return to SCSU for more classes in the oral tradition.”
