Why? In journalism the first day in college they remind us the 5 W's of news... who, what, where, when and why. Even before I stepped in the fishbowl class room of Mr. Ausenbaugh's I knew Why? was my favorite question. Not that I was a pesky little kid that run around asking why this or why that out loud... but inside I always asked Why? growing up and today I still ask Why? about almost everything I encounter. I think that is why I followed a path of journalism toward this business of Public Relations, more so than a path of advertising, marketing, etc. While I have a degree in Public Relations it is deeply rooted in the Journalism department. That is WHY that the photographs you see sometimes from here has more a view of the impact of the moment on history, rather than just a pretty pictures of a race car. The profile of a person might catch a thought in their eye, rather than just a cheesy mug at the camera... A website from Straight Circles might lack on flash and bright lights but focus more on the facts and providing what we think is the reason the majority of people look at a website for... information. That is just a couple of the Why? fors... here's a few more brief Why's? you may ask: Why the name Straight Circles? It was inspired by the musical group Vertical Horizons. Before that this was all called Rcpr (Richard Cunningham Public Relations - putting the heartbeat in racing). No one seemed to truly get the Rc and cpr name combination so we thought we'll why? not confuse them even more... what's more confusing than the opposites of a straight line and circles... and since all we do involved going in circles... if vertical could be horizon, then we should be Straight Circles. Why choose Straight Circles for your communication needs? We've worked hard at building and maintaining a reputation of solid performance, backing up the hype (the PR), truthful AND honesty, and a genuine care of the client we represent all from a deep passion about what we do. It's that passion that has led us to work and bring a Fortune 500 company to the grass roots dirt level in a deal worth over half a million dollars in commitment during one single negotiation for marketing support. And that passion that brought in the corporate marketing department to work with us above and beyond the regional department to provide a true team effort toward goals. Why did you leave the world of NASCAR for grass roots racing? The world of NASCAR changed about the time I started drawing a weekly paycheck from the machine that is now the Cup Nation. It was quickly becoming the more political sport it is now known as and was not focused on the actual sport but more the money it is known for being now. When the owner of the firm you are working for says it would be a disgrace for your personal favorite driver to be the NASCAR champion because he can't read or write, or when after a trip back to the midwest you come back to the office talking about the dirt slinging fun you had and mention names like Jeff Purvis, Billy Moyer, etc.
