When founded in 1997, the original objective for Strategic Healthcare Initiatives, Inc. was to respond to market demand for practical, operations-oriented consulting services delivered at a reasonable cost. Our name, Strategic Healthcare Initiatives defines what we do….over the past 12 years we have developed strategic initiatives for the health care industry. Our goal is to provide programs for our clients that enhance their bottom line by adopting programs or products that help them become more efficient, reduce expenses or create revenue.

Strategic Franchise Services, Inc. was founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of Strategic Healthcare Initiatives to provide cost effective alternatives to the high cost of group and individual health insurance. Over the last three to four years, the group health insurance plans have increased annually in double digits, placing unprecedented financial pressures on American businesses and employees. As a result, the number of uninsured in the United States has climbed to over 43 million.

Tom Sheehan has over twenty years experience in the health care and health insurance industries. After three years in the US Army, Mr. Sheehan began his sales career with Johnson & Johnson in New York City. In 1983 he founded and managed a search and recruiting organization in Dallas, Marketing Source Company, Inc. (dba Managed Care Resources). The company specialized in the placement of sales and management personnel in a variety of health care industry sectors including hospitals, physician practices, health insurance and managed care organizations, and employee benefit consulting firms. Mr. Sheehan joined Strategic Healthcare Initiatives, Inc., a health care consulting firm, in 2001 to market a suite of proprietary HIPAA compliance products to physicians and employers, and to establish an executive search practice to service the expanding health care industry. Our clientele includes physician groups, managed care organizations, health insurance companies, employee benefit consulting firms, insurance brokers and other health care service companies. Mr. Sheehan has a BA degree from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC).
