Stratus Imaging was formed in November 2003 to serve the needs of individuals and organizations in the Western and Central New York area. We offer a professional, unique and cost-effective approach to aerial imaging and photography. A tethered, 16 foot long blimp is used to suspend a professional single lens reflex digital camera, which an operator can pan and tilt from a remote control unit on the ground. A wireless video signal is transmitted to a four inch LCD screen so the operator can see through the camera's lens. Once the desired view is in the camera's frame, the shutter is tripped to capture the image.
