The principals of Studio 3 Architecture are firmly committed to sustainable practices in building design and facility management. All principals in the firm have had some level of experience working with the US Green Building Council ’s “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ” (LEED) program. Even with projects that are not part of the LEED™ program, the firm remains committed to sustainable practices particularly in terms of: Since May 2001 Leonard Lodder has been a LEED™ 2.0 Accredited Professional. He was among the first group of design professionals to become accredited in Oregon. Prior to achieving LEED™ certification as a design professional, he practiced architecture with an eye towards energy efficiency and conservation in building design, while focusing on mastering local technologies and materials with an emphasis on sustainable practices. While employed by Arbuckle Costic Architects he was the Project Architect and Project Manager for Courthouse Square, a $21 million transit mall and county office building in Salem, Oregon. This project achieved a bronze rating in the LEED™ Pilot program.
