We are a network of people and organizations working to build the power of nonprofit organizations. We value the fact that many talented individuals we work with define their relationship with the Summit Collaborative in different ways. From core staff to individuals we only frequently collaborate with on a project, the common bond between us is our commitment to excellence and nonprofit power building. We are proud to share with you the individuals that make up our collaborative. Many of them have their own very successful enterprises and we are privledged that they call themselves members of the Summit Collaborative.Marc Osten is founder of the Summit Collaborative, an organization that provides research, program development, and management support to foundations, nonprofit networks and associations. Marc began his career in the nonprofit sector in the early 1980s as a peace and environmental activist. He was part of the first wave of nonprofit activists to use the Internet in the 1980�s while he was at Greenpeace and the national organization of the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs). In the 1990s he attained his masters in education and worked as an educator and teacher trainer. Over the past four years, he built Summit Collaborative and spends most of his time working as an organizational development strategist, builder of learning communities and collaborations, author, and provocateur. He recently launched a successful Internet publishing venture, Dot Org Media and developed an innovative change management program for nonprofits and executives, Strategic Technology. He is a member of the Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (N-TEN) and serves in various other leadership positions in nonprofit organizations and networks.Michael Stein is a nationally renowned Internet strategist with 15 years of experience working with nonprofits, foundations, labor unions, technology providers and socially responsible businesses. Michael works as a consultant, helping organizations with Internet strategy, online marketing, technology program evaluation, email newsletters, search engine optimization, Website content management and vendor selection. He is the co-author of three books about the Internet, including: The eNonprofit: A Guide to ASPs, Internet Services and Online Software, with John Kenyon, published by CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, Jan 2002. In 1997, he co-authored Fundraising on the Internet: Recruiting and Renewing Donors Online, with Nick Allen and Mal Warwick. His opinion and analysis have been featured in numerous media, including: The New York Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, San Jose Mercury News, National Public Radio, Quicken Money Reports, Philanthropy Journal, Wired News, TechSoup.org, The Industry Standard, Office.com and The Nonprofit Quarterly.
