2010 Summer Horse Riding Camps Kids love the Summer Camps at Sunset Trails Stables! Sunset Trails Stables has summer the camps you’ve been searching for! Learn horseback riding skills, build confidence and do something nice to help others. Last year, one camper said, “this camp gave me the happiest summer ever!” Safety is a first priority. All equipment is provided, including a riding helmet. Campers are divided into groups by age and experience level. A schedule for each camp is available. A community service project is part of each camp. Choose from the following camp sessions: Download Registration Forms Here June Camps: June 1 – 4 (Tues. – Fri. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.): Ride! Share! Grow! – ages 6 and up. Campers learn Western and English gaits, balance, posture and body cuing in Western and English tack. Making a craft for an elderly person is also part of this camp. A fun show and winning real ribbons at the end of camp tops off the fun! Camp is $299.00 for the week. June 7 – 11 (Tues. – Fri. 9:00 a.m. – noon): Turn n’ Burn-Beginning. Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Camp, ages 8 and up. Campers learn barrel racing and pole bending patterns, along with turning, checking, and proper starting and stopping. Campers are asked to bring canned goods for a donation for social services. Camp is $119.00 for the week. June 14 – 17 (Mon. – Thurs. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.): Riding Basics, ages 6 to 12. Campers learn horse care, safety, grooming, saddling, and the basics of riding. Campers may then advance to another camp session. Campers will make a craft for an ill or disabled person as part of the camp. There will also be a fun show for all campers and their visitors on Friday morning. Camp is $299.00 for the week. June 21-25 (Mon.–Fri. 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.): Rodeo Events Camp, ages 6 and up. This camp is for riders with some basic experience who would like to learn more about barrel racing, pole bending, roping and goat tying. Campers practice rodeo events using balance, posture and cuing. A fun timed-event rodeo will take place at the end of this camp. Camp is $329.00 for the week. June 28 – July 1 (Mon. – Thurs. 9:00 a.m. – noon): Ride! Share! Grow! ages 6 and up. Campers learn Western and English gaits, balance, posture and body cuing in Western and English tack. We also make crafts for the elderly at this camp. A fun show where campers win ribbons tops off the fun. Camp is $119.00 for the week. JULY and AUGUST CAMPS: July 6 – 9 (Tues. – Fri. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Ride! Share! Grow!–this camp is for kids ages 6 and up. Campers learn Western and English gaits, balance, posture and body cuing in Western and English tack. Making a craft for an elderly person is also part of this camp. A fun show awarding real ribbons at the end of camp tops off the learning. Camp is $299.00 for the week. July 19-23 (Mon. – Fri. 9:00 a.m. – noon): Turn n’ Burn – Beginning Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Camp, ages 8 and up. Campers learn barrel racing and pole bending patterns, along with turning, checking, and proper starting and stopping. All campers will earn achievement awards! Camp is $159.00 for the week.
