AFE elects new leaders The American Floral Endowment (AFE) has appointed Teleflora Chairman Tom Butler, AAF, PFCI, as its chairman during the organization ’s 50th Anniversary Commemorative Dinner, Sept. 22, in Orlando, Fla. Mr. Butler, who joined the AFE Board in 2006, also oversees its Development Committee and formerly chaired its Public Relations Committee. His term as AFE chairman will be two years. Outgoing AFE Chairman Harrison “Red ” Kennicott, AAF, president of Kennicott Brothers in Chicago, Ill., will continue to serve on the board of trustees as past chairman for two years. In addition to Mr. Butler, the board elected Paul Bachman, of Bachman ’s Incorporated in Minneapolis, Minn., to a two-year term as chairman-elect. Jim Phillip, AAF, of Phillip ’s Flowers in Westmont, Ill., continues the second year of his three-year term as treasurer/secretary. AFE also welcomed new trustee Dr. Marvin Miller, of Ball Horticultural Company in Chicago, who begins a three-year term.
