For over 30 years Dr. Downey has travelled to over 15 countries to help children born with facial defects such as cleft lip. Most recently she has travelled to Ecuador four times as a Visiting Educator helping to train local doctors in the techniques to treat these conditions. In addition to many national and international lectures and numerous publications in medical journals Dr, Downey is credited with films for the Learning Channel, Lifetime, The Discovery Channel and the History Channel. Dr. Downey has received many awards including being listed in “The Best Doctors in America “ since 2000.

The goal of our practice is to help patients achieve their goals in restoring their bodies to the best possible form and function as achievable through plastic surgery. When patients come into the office our first job is to obtain and provide information. There is no one approach to any problem in plastic surgery and each patient presents their own unique set of problems and concerns. Each patient's situation is addressed and a plan for each patient is individually devised. Whenever possible written information is provided to help the patient prepare for the surgery as well as to plan for the postoperative period. When it is needed our team works closely with other specialists in Bariatric surgery, Gynecology, Urology and General surgery to provide the best functional and reconstructive restoration.
