Agents Advisory Meeting (October 28, 2009 - Orion, IL) Notes from the Fall meeting of the Agents Advisory Committee...thanks to Mike Cratty and Ron James for their participation on the committee, as they are leaving the committee after this meeting. The current active committee is: Ron Beck of the Beck Insurance Agency in Mendon, Dennis Tate of Purdum-Gray-Ingledue, Incorporated of Macomb; Erics Olds of Olds Insurance in Wyanet; and Mike Yepsen of CSB Insurance in Galva and Kewanee. We will be naming two new members for the board in the coming weeks. Vacant Property Program The meeting reviewed and discussed the new vacant property program we are introducing. Valuation of Grain Bins for Replacement Cost We discussed the challenges of properly valuing grain bins for the purpose of replacement cost, in light of the drastic fluctuations in the cost of bins and materials. Inspections A review and discussion of our overall inspection program. Other Topics Other topics discussed was our online software program, Mechanical Breakdown coverage, Fire Investigations, roof claims, premium credits. The next meeting will be in the spring of 2010. The Flood of 2008 (June 20, 2008 - Orion, IL) As we watch the news of the devastating flooding in Iowa and all down the Mississippi River Valley, remember that there are many ways to help, from volunteering your time, to giving money and badly needed supplies. Online donations can be made through the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the Salvation Army . If you wish to volunteer your time, please contact your local Red Cross office or Emergency Management Agency first to receive instructions, rather than traveling to the flooded areas to show up to help.
