Description
Swanson Group uses an anti-stain treatment on all dimension lumber to provide protection against mold and to help the wood store better in a lumberyard. The units are end painted red with a sealant that also protects the wood. Each unit is tagged with an inventory label that identifies the time and date of production as well as the size, length, and piece count of the item. We use this inventory tag system to improve mill quality control and to monitor finished inventory rotation ensuring that our customers' orders are filled with bright fresh stock.
Swanson Group Inc. is a privately held forest products company based in Southern Oregon. Since 1951 the Swanson family has been engaged in the manufacturing of Doug Fir dimension lumber, plywood, veneer and studs . Our company has a long history of supporting the natural resources of their home state and was one of the first sawmills in the Northwest to convert our mills to small log production. All of our raw material is purchased from environmentally responsible sources and we have been certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) for our efforts in fiber sourcing.
Our Company is committed to establishing and maintaining a safe work environment. The management, supervision and every Swanson Group employee share the responsibility for the safety and health of everyone that works at, or visits, a Company site.
The Western Wood Products Association (WWPA) has long been recognized as a leader in establishing the criteria for grading lumber produced in the western US and their stamp on our products assures our customers that the lumber they are buying will perform to the exacting standard that the grade indicates.
Swanson Group manufactures kiln dry studs in White Fir, Hem Fir, and Doug Fir; and although these species are closely related they do contain different characteristics that make each of them attractive to various markets and buyers.
