Alexia has worked for over 15 years with the pediatric population and has worked as certified speech language pathologists for more than nine years. Her experiences include working with children with developmental delays such as Autism, various syndromes including Down syndrome, and neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy. Alexia is trained in oral placement and motor planning techniques such as Talk Tools and PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Targets), the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding, Lidcombe Program for Stuttering, and she is proficient in Sentence Writing Strategy. She is committed to continuing her education and staying current on the latest research-based treatment methods for communication disorders. Alexia believes that every child has the potential to improve, therefore she sets high standards so that the children she works with will perform to higher levels of success.

Mari Yao, the owner and Assistant Director at TALK, is a creative and passionate therapist. She holds her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of the Pacific. Mari has experience throughout the Bay Area working with children with speech and language difficulties in both the public school and private practice settings. She has provided services for clients with a variety of deficits including, but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, oral motor issues, voice, articulation, and Apraxia. Mari has worked with children with special needs for over ten years and enjoys helping them reach their full communicative potential. Mari is also interested in narrative workshops and social skill development; she enjoys creating motivating therapy activities for children of all ages in a patient and gentle manner. In her role of Assistant Director Mari is excited to work with TALK families to manage their child's therapy program and progress. She believes in providing therapy that is meaningful to both the child and their family, enhancing communication in everyday life.

Alexia earned her Bachelor of Arts from U.C. Santa Barbara, then her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the Pacific. She holds a certificate of clinical competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), the national association for Speech Language Pathologists. Alexia is also licensed by the state of California Department of Consumer Affairs Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board. She has experience working with local Regional Centers providing early intervention services for children three years of age and under.

Sarah Bailey is a compassionate and dedicated therapist with a genuine love for working with children to become better communicators. She moved from the her hometown in the bay area to San Diego to pursue her Bachelor of Arts and eventually Master of Arts degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from San Diego State University. While an undergraduate she worked as a student intern to lead an infant sign language class and a phonological awareness program for preschool through early elementary students. Sarah has worked with children and adults in a variety of clinical settings including: a university outpatient clinic, an acute-care hospital, and public preschool and elementary schools. Within these settings she gained experience with assessment and treatment of a variety of populations and disorders: aphasia, apraxia of speech, swallowing, articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, hearing impairments, cleft palate and social-pragmatic disorders.

Elizabeth Pile Ho, M.S., CCC-SLP, moved to the Bay Area from Toronto, Canada. She earned her B.Sc.H. in Psychology from Queen's University and her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto. Speech and communication development has been a passion of Elizabeth’s since she began volunteering with special needs children in her hometown, Toronto; she worked at the Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, where she focused on assessing and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for children with complex physical and communication needs. Elizabeth has experience working with children with many different needs, including cerebral palsy, autism, Down’s Syndrome, global developmental delay, and other neuromuscular conditions. In addition to AAC, she enjoys working on feeding and swallowing, speech-sound development, and early intentional communication with her clients. Elizabeth is certified to lead the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words programs, training parents in strategies to help stimulate speech and language development in their children.
