About Tantacomm and its role in Call Center Solutions TantaComm Systems, based in Omaha, Nebraska, was formed in 1994 by James A. Taphorn, Leo Boston, Jr. and Mike Vande Voort. Collectively, the principals of this company bring nearly 100 years of telecommunications and computer technology knowledge together in a single entity. TantaComm's first call center software solution, DARRS (Digital Audio Recording and Retrieval System), filled a critical need in the Call Center Service Bureau sector by providing the first on-demand contact center recording platform with high compression, integration with the agent desktop and user defined naming for the voice file. The DARRS platform permitted outbound telemarketing firms with multiple distributed operations to centralize and electronically automate their verification processes, reducing turn around times and manpower requirements significantly. Many DARRS systems, some over 9 years old, are still in daily use.
