Description

Many of our partner schools are located in rural communities in the Pee Dee and Orangeburg along Interstate 95, where corps members are uniquely positioned to provide our students with the opportunities they deserve. We also place teachers in some of the highest-need schools in the Lowcountry including partnering with school districts in Charleston, Colleton, and Berkeley Counties. Students growing up in low-income communities do not often have the chance to fulfill their potential.

We provide training and professional development before, during and after the corps. A significant number of our 32,000 alumni continue to teach after their 2-year corps commitment. Others take on roles in school leadership, policy, and many other sectors where they continue to leverage the Teach For America network as they work for educational equity.

Teach For America instructional coaches observe each corps member several times a week. They provide written feedback and discuss areas for development, working with corps members to create concrete plans to increase student learning and develop teaching knowledge and skills. Veteran district teachers partner with each classroom to provide regular feedback throughout the summer.

Our operations and maintenance contractors sometimes have limited access to your Personally Identifiable Information in the course of providing products or services to us. These contractors may include vendors and suppliers that provide us with technology, services, and/or content related to the operation and maintenance of the Website.
